Welcome

Hello and welcome to the laura lehan photography blogsite! I am so glad that you stopped by! This blog serves as my blog and website all in one. It is here that you can enjoy my latest work and learn a little bit more about me, my new business and most of all, my love of photography!

Photography has always been a passion of mine and hopefully this is evident in the images on this page! I would define my photographic style as modern elegance meets vintage romance. There may actually even be a little bit of recklessness and even wild abandon mixed in there too!

I am always looking for new clients and ideas. So if you are interested in scheduling a shoot, have any questions or fun new ideas, please email me at lauralehan@hotmail.com.

Don't forget to become a follower, so that you can receive emails when I update my blog! Or you can just obssessively stalk it daily. I mean, whatever you want to do, who am I to judge?

Cheers,

michelle + jake + 2 hot dogs | minneapolis portrait photographer

On the first beautiful day of Spring, I met Michelle and Jake and their two weiner dogs, Brody and Jake Jr. (JJ) downtown. Michelle had wanted photos of her and "her three weens" and some shots of downtown for her new office. And I did get to sneak in some "marriage-type photos," as Jake liked (or didn't like?) to call them. :)  I am posting these under "engagements," but I want to be clear, that these are not their engagement photos.

It was such a gorgeous day; the sun was shining and the breeze was slight. I actually even broke a sweat! I am looking forward to a wonderful Minnesota Summer!

birth announcements | minneapolis card designer

In addition to making photographs, I also design various different cards to showcase your photos! Some examples include: birth announcements, save the date cards, thank you cards, Christmas cards, etc. I will create a few different options and then you will get to choose the design that you like with the option to change the photos, fonts and colors. Please contact me if you are interested in a card design!

miles | bébé + family {minneapolis baby + family photographer}

I went over to the Prochazka home to make photographs of the newest family member, Miles. Miles was only two weeks old, but was surprisingly aware and strong! Susannah and Dan welcomed me into their home and were so kind and easy-going. I had such a wonderful time with this lovely family! Thank you for having me over!

2010 PhotoChallenge | february weeks 2-4 {natural landscapes}

Here are my last three photos for the PhotoChallenge for February!

I suppose that the tire tracks in the snow make the scene "affected by human activity," but I really liked the path.  I reminded me of a poem I had to memorize in elementary school.  Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening by Robert Frost.

My last natural landscape photograph is from Matt and my trip to Thailand!  {Shhh . . .  this photograph wasn't exactly made in February!  But it was too good not to share!}

morgan | bébé {minneapolis baby photographer}

I had the pleasure of going over to the Ellises' new home and photographing the adorable Morgan! Morgan is a VERY busy 8 month old. She was all over the place and I had a blast just following her around! But it made me remember just how tiring little ones are!

Morgan's mom, Maissa, is the sister of my friends, Allison. So I have known Maissa for quiet some time and it is so fun to see her as a mommy now! It is also fun to see Allison as an auntie. I think Morgan is a pretty special little girl who is loved very much!

2010 PhotoChallenge | feburary week 1 {natural landscapes}

Oh man! Feburary's Photo Challenge is a doozy! Natural Landscapes! What constitutes a natural landscape? Wikipedia says, “A natural landscape is one that is unaffected by human activity.” Wowza! I have my work cut out for me! :)

Here is my first attempt at a natural landscape in suburbia . . .

It isn't the most beautiful natural landscape around, but it is probably one of the only untouched areas in my rapidly growing suburban town.  If you look real close you can see a statue of Mother Mary placed in the middle of the field.  I will admit the first time I saw this I was totally freaked out!  But then I learned that this large field is actually owned by a private Christian school down the road that has been looking to expand on this site for quiet some time now, but has yet to do so.  So it won't remain unaffected by human activity forever!

2010 PhotoChallenge | january week 4 {resolution}

My final photograph for January's RESOLUTION theme is . . .

I need to floss more and just to take better care of my teeth in general! Do you notice how I have the adult floss up in the front as if those are the ones that I use the most. {But if you want to know the truth . . . check out the one in the middle! The Wild String! Now that is my favorite! It is this wonderful childlike Cherry flavor that reminds me of a lipsmackers lip balm. Yum!}
